Personal & Business Branding Questions

Branding photography is the art of crafting professional images that embody your business, highlighting your products, services, and unique personality to forge a genuine connection with your audience. When I explain this to clients, I emphasize that a branding photoshoot has the remarkable ability to humanise the business owner, making their brand more relatable and engaging.

It provides unique, professional images that tell your brand story, helping to educate your audience, increase credibility, and build the “Know, Like, and Trust” factor essential for business growth.

Absolutely, especially if your business thrives on personal relationships. Clients often want to see the person behind the brand to establish a sense of trust and connection before making a commitment. I specialise in working with entrepreneurs who are the face of their brand, as well as businesses that rely on direct, personal interactions with their clients.

Choose outfits – or what I like to call “looks” – that make you feel confident, align with your brand’s colour palette, and reflect your unique personality. Bringing multiple outfits to your photoshoot not only adds variety to your images but also enhances their authenticity and ensures they remain relevant and impactful for years to come. Including both summer and winter clothing in your session is a great way to create a versatile library of images that can be used throughout the year. For example, lighter fabrics, brighter colours, and casual styles work well for warmer months, while layered outfits, richer tones, and cozy textures are perfect for winter. This approach ensures your business imagery stays fresh, relatable, and seasonally appropriate, allowing you to connect with your audience no matter the time of year.

Choose locations that represent you and your business, such as your office, favourite coffee shop, or any place that aligns with your brand’s story. This detail will be discussed during your pre-shoot planning meeting. I specialise in multi-location branding photoshoots.

Absolutely! Including pets or family members in your branding photos can add a heartfelt, personal touch that helps showcase your authentic self and build a stronger connection with your audience. It’s a powerful way to let people see the real you behind the business. These types of images help visualise your story, making it easier for your audience to connect with you on an emotional level.

To take it a step further, consider sharing your “why” – the reason you’re passionate about what you do. Maybe you’re driven by the desire to provide for your family, or perhaps your love for animals. When you open-up about your motivations, it humanises your brand and allows your audience to relate to you on a deeper level. Pairing these stories with visuals – like a photo of you with your horse, or a candid moment with your kids if family is your driving force – makes your message even more impactful. People don’t just buy products or services; they buy into stories, values, and the people behind them. By weaving your “why” into your branding, you create a more meaningful and lasting impression.

I work with a local hair and makeup artist who can provide occasional hair and makeup prior to your photoshoot.

It’s important for us to meet before your photoshoot to ensure everything is well-planned and tailored to your needs. Our first meeting is especially important because it’s where we begin to build the all-important ‘know, like, and trust’ factor. You can easily book a meeting with me by filling out the contact form on my website.”

Every branding shoot I create is completely bespoke, tailored to your unique needs and vision. Because of this, providing a standard price can be tricky – it really depends on the scope of the project. However, to give you an idea, a single-location photoshoot with two ’sets’ (scene or setup) typically starts from £350.  This flexibility allows us to create a variety of images that tell your story authentically, ensuring your branding visuals are as unique as your business.

Corporate Headshot Questions

Wearing something you like and that makes you feel good is a great start for a headshot or personal branding session. What you wear reflects your personality and the message you want to share with your audience. Consider this: if you’re a business owner or professional, your clients should see you as they would in a real working environment. Dressing as you typically would for meetings or client interactions helps reinforce your brand. My goal is to capture the real you, so take a moment to think about how your clothing look aligns with your brand and the impression you want to make with your headshot or branding portrait.”

How you pose for headshots really depends on the brief, and sometimes the person I’m photographing isn’t the one who set it! For company directories or team pages, there’s often a need for a uniform look, whereas other sessions allow for more personality and flexibility. No matter the brief, my priority is to help you feel comfortable so I can capture a natural, confident version of you.

I’ll guide you through a few classic poses – starting at a slight angle to the camera, facing left or right, before taking some front-facing shots. From there, depending on the brief, we can mix in more relaxed, natural poses that fit the setting and bring out your personality.

A good corporate headshot strikes the right balance between professionalism and personality. It’s all about sharp focus, natural-look lighting, and the right attire to match your industry and role. A confident, approachable expression with direct eye contact helps create a strong connection, whether for clients, colleagues, or potential employers. The background should be clean or relevant to your brand, and the pose should feel natural, nothing too stiff or staged.

A great headshot isn’t just about looking good, it’s about making a connection. First impressions happen fast, and whether it’s potential clients, recruiters, or business partners checking out your profile, you want to come across as trustworthy, capable, and approachable. That’s where I come in. Whether you’re a CEO, entrepreneur, or professional looking to elevate your image, I make the process easy and stress-free, guiding you every step of the way to capture a headshot that truly represents you.

Corporate headshots are more than just photographs – they reflect your identity and how you wish to be perceived by the world. A professional corporate headshot has the power to shape your image and leave a lasting impression, making it essential to ensure they are of the highest quality.

My setup fee costs £250 and then each image purchased costs £30. So, for example a company with a team of five people the cost would be £400. Each person photographed would have a series of 6-9 images taken and presented to them to choose their single selection from.
